How We Work

No runaround. Here is what happens from the first phone call to the final test, and the standards we hold ourselves to on every job.

From Your Call to the Final Test

  1. You call, and Declan answers

Declan answers his own phone for most calls. If he is on a job, he tries to get back to you the same day, and urgent problems like a burst pipe or no hot water come first. He asks what you are seeing, how long it has been going on and what has been tried, so he shows up prepared.

  2. We show up when we said we would

You get a time, and we keep it. Being on time is part of doing the job right.

  3. Assessment: finding the real problem

We look, test and trace the problem to its cause, not just its symptom. A clog that keeps coming back or a leak that keeps moving is not fixed by treating the spot you can see.

  4. An upfront quote, explained

Before any work starts, we explain exactly what is going on with your plumbing and give you the price. If a smaller repair makes sense, you hear about it. No upselling, and no extra fees padded onto the invoice.

  5. The work, done right the first time

Drop cloths go down, the work area stays tidy, and the job is done to code. We would rather take the time to do it right than rush to the next call.

  6. Testing before we leave

Supply joints are checked dry under pressure, drains are run with enough water to prove they are open, and a new water heater is run through a full heating cycle and checked for leaks and proper venting. Then we show you what we did.

  7. We stand behind our work

If something is not right with work we did, call us. The business is built on repeat customers and referrals rather than advertising, and that only works when the job holds up.

Our Standards

These are the same on a ten-minute faucet repair and a whole-house repipe, for a homeowner or a commercial building.

Even a small job, like the toilet repair in the photo, starts with a drop cloth on the floor. The table below spells out what each standard means for you.

Two-piece toilet in a small bathroom with a drop cloth spread over the floor beside it and flush button parts resting on the closed lid
Toilet repair, floor covered before work starts
Standard What It Means on Your Job
Upfront pricing You agree to the price before work starts, and no extra fees are added afterward
Honest recommendations No upselling. If something can wait, we say so
Clear explanations You see the problem and understand the fix before we start
Licensed, code-compliant work Work is done to current local code, so inspections go smoothly the first time
On time and prepared We show up when we say we will, with the parts the job needs
Respect for your home Drop cloths down, a tidy work area, and the mess cleaned up before we leave

Our Process: Common Questions

Do you take care of permits and inspections?

When a job needs a permit and inspection, we tell you upfront and build it into the schedule. Declan keeps up with local code requirements, so the work passes the first time.

Do I need to be home during the work?

For the assessment and the quote, yes, or someone who can approve the work. For a longer job, we agree on access with you before it starts.

What happens if you find something else wrong?

You hear about it, with an honest opinion on whether it needs attention now, later or not at all. Nothing extra is done without your OK.

How do you protect my home while you work?

We put drop cloths down where we work and carry tools and parts in and out with care. When a wall or ceiling has to be opened, we keep the opening as small as the repair allows, and we clean up before we leave.
